In 2017, Megan Dimmer meticulously renovated a 5,000 sq. ft. home in the exclusive Preston Hollow neighborhood of Dallas, Texas. The standout feature of the project was the complete reimagining of the primary suite, where Megan brought in luxury hospitality-level finishes to create a serene, yet opulent retreat. The bath and closet were adorned with Schonbek Swarovski chandeliers, casting a soft, elegant glow on the custom crystal hardware and pristine Thassos marble surfaces. Luxurious white lacquered vanities were carefully selected to add a sleek, modern touch to the bathroom, contrasting beautifully with the rich espresso wide plank hardwood floors in the bedroom. Together, these elements seamlessly blended elegance with a sense of personal luxury. Megan had the vision and led the design effort, partnering with architect, Brad Lutz, and general contractor, Jane Swaldi of Swaldi Construction on this project.
Before: Original primary bath was defined by a cramped, poorly lit shower and an oversized, unbalanced vanity, resulting in a space that felt both dark and awkwardly proportioned.

After: Upon entering the redesigned primary bath, you are welcomed by the stunning Schonbek chandelier, which immediately sets the tone of refined luxury. The spacious double shower is a showpiece, featuring Artistic Tile's Claridges Thassos Waterjet Mosaic, inspired by the timeless glamour of the Claridges Hotel in London. Symmetry was created with sleek dual vanities, while an added makeup vanity brings both elegance and balance, reflected in the mirror opposite the modern freestanding tub. Together, these elements transform the space into a luxurious, spa-like retreat with sophisticated, thoughtful touches throughout.

Before: The original bath featured heavy, wood accents, an arched vanity, and a built-in tub with outdated window treatments, all hallmarks of early 2000s design. The space lacked a sense of openness and light.

After: The bath was transformed into a bright, modern retreat. A sleek, freestanding tub now takes center stage, framed by clean lines and luxurious marble floors. The room’s new palette of crisp whites and reflective surfaces enhances natural light, while crystal faucets and gleaming finishes add a touch of opulence, offering a refined, spa-like atmosphere.
Before: The primary sitting area was weighed down by dark wood cabinets, granite surfaces, and beige tones throughout, including the carpet, creating a heavy and dated feel.

After: Primary sitting area has been revitalized with espresso wide plank hardwood floors and light grey walls, bringing a fresh, modern vibe. While not shown in the photo, a sleek wet bar now features white cabinetry, a hand-hammered silver sink, and a new marble countertop, adding elegance and functionality. Updates throughout the space have transformed it into a sophisticated, luxurious retreat, balancing warmth with contemporary style.
